LGW & MAN operating normally with some delays possible at LGW.
We should have the confirmed LHR flight schedule for tomorrow at around 20:00 tonight. I will not be at work so can't post it here, sorry.
Good luck people planning to fly, Ed

It was on BBC London this evening that Virgin will be cancelling some lounghaul flights tomorrow (mainly to US and SA) and PAX with revenue fares (£) will get priority over other fare types (presumably miles and staffon flights ?) over the next few days/weeks to get them to their destination so to expect last minute cancellations (I read that e.g. to fly a J over a G).

Having gone through the Flight Status for ex-LHR for the 23rd, there are only 2 cancellations currently showing.
These are:
VS3 to JFK
VS250 to Shanghai
Obviously this is still subject to change and there may be delays too,

Completely wrong.
People holding a confirmed ticket will be travelling on their flight. Stranded passengers will be rebooked first come first served where there is space. Staff will not be travelling unless for critical business.

Oh Marvellous!!
Since Sunday VS03 has taken off, albeit late but has gone now its cancelled for 23rd Dec!!!!
We fly on 24th,
What are the chances this is operational to move planes around?
Odds on it flying on the 24th???
Trying to plan a contingency plan so any help would be invaluable

Sorry, I can't be much more helpful, but the longer there is no disruption from the weather, the better the chances of your flight going.
Oh, and welcome to V-Flyer.

Another sweep through shows more cancellations - usual caveats apply.
VS11 to Boston
VS601 to JNB
VS17 to EWR
VS21 to Washington.

Cancelled flights for tomorrow are:
VS3/4
VS11/12
VS17
VS21/22
VS250
VS601
And because of this, on 24Dec:
VS18
VS251
VS602

Thanks for the info
Could you explain your thought pattern further please?
Would be nice if VS actually explained this!!
What are chances of VS3 going on 24th?

The logic is these are paired flights so for example the VS250 fron LHR to Shanghai operates as the VS251 back to LHR.
If there is no outbond there can't be an inbound back to the UK.

This has only been confirmed in the past few moments.
It's too early to say for the 24th but I'd imagine VS to be up to full speed by then (apart from the few cancellations above, which are affected by the outbound flights being cancelled tomorrow)
Weather permitting of course.

So, if there is space in PE and UC, will they upgrade confirmed pax first (say, with AU card

) and then give the stranded pax the economy seats, or just give them the available PE/UC seat?
