Companion Tickets

Hi all,

I'm hoping next year to visit Tokyo for the first time with the missus and I'm wondering about the possibility of getting there in UC. Now, it's either 65k miles for a free UC companion ticket or 100k for one free UC ticket.

How much of a price difference can I expect to see between the two alternatives? It would be nice to use less miles, but how much more would I have to expect to pay for a full fare UC ticket compared to a Z-class ticket? (I'm assuming that when it comes to obtaining a companion ticket you have to buy a full-fare ticket to qualify.)

Cheers,

Darryl

Would Miles + Money be an option?

I think your best bet might be to ring up VS reservations and ask the price of the lowest available ticket, the price of lowest qualifying ticket and the availability of both types of reward flights.

when we went last month to NRT a full fare J was over £4k[:0]Discounted Z was around £2.2K(booked well upfront). We opted for 2 rewards @ 200k miles and about £155 in tax,the rewards were booked a week before we travelled.
