hi there, can anyone offer advice on good seats in upper on vs 15 Gatwick-Orlando ?

On the basis it's a lgw/man cabin I enjoyed 6a and 6k - right at the front.

Can you be more specific? How many in your party? What are you looking for? - seats near the bar? Early service? Quiet seats?

Different locations within the cabin suit different people.

The LGW aircraft have a much smaller UC cabin with 14 seats. I like 7/8 A or K but having sat in various seats in the configuration (even near the bar) I've not had a really duff one yet.
As Nick says are you travelling alone, in a couple etc?

To be honest, with only 14 seats available, there's hardly a bad one. As others have already said, are you travelling alone or with partner.

If there are others in your party, apart from rows 6,7 and maybe 8 which are pretty close together, by the time you are at 9 onwards you would be better selecting 2 a's or 2 k's as you would end up shouting at each other across the plane.

Of course, if its a LHR configered plane, then its all different again

hey thanks everyone for your advise, i have reserved online 8a outbound and 7k on the return, i flew upper on a flight to miami last year (a340 600) and my seat was close to the bar and far too close to the toilet, i found it quite annoying that there was a constant flow of people.

also, i have learned a friend from work is travelling on the same outbound flight as me but in economy, is it acceptable to invite a passenger from economy to join me at the uc bar for a drink and a natter or is it strictly off limits to economy travellers ?

It is down to the FSM on the day - you would need to ask him/her - 'if it is possible and if the bar isn't too busy and it if dosen't interfere with the service would it be possible to invite my friend up for a quick drink at the bar or at my suite?'.

The bar is a UC facility for UC pax - its not a general bar for anyone and other UC pax might not like the bar being used by people who havn't paid for a UC ticket.

AS your in UC you could take your friend into the CH.

I wouldn't even mention it to your friend so it wold be a nice surprise if it happens and he's none the wiser if it dosen't.

To add to what Tonty has already said, the UC bar on the Gatwick fleet only has two seats and is actually in the cabin (rather than at the exit passageway as in the LHR aircraft). This makes use of the bar very obvious and I have to say that in all the times I have flown out to MCO it has never been a focal point.

As was the case last week when I came back from MCO in PE and Mrs Buns was in Upper, Mrs Buns approached the FSM and I was able to join her for a drink at her suite.

I always go for 9a on th lgw fleet. Far enough back to avoid being close to the opposit seat but far enough forward to avoid noise/light from the galley. I normally choose A instead of K as I'm used to sleeping on my left side.
