Delhi - 343 showing out 29/01 346 in 30/01 How?

Travelling to Delhi on 29th Jan on VS 300 loaded on seat map as A343. Seat 1A the best I could get (don't like the aft UC cabin)but this seat doesn't exist on the 346

However dummy booking for return on 30/1 shows a A346. This doesn't add up. Anyone on the inside able to help - a fault with the booking system? If the outbound is a 346 would it change when OLCI opens or only at check in. I've experienced an aircraft change before and the allocated seat bore no resemblance ot the original request (I was allocated an aisel instead of a window)so I'd like to optimise my chances of at least getting a window seat.

I noticed something similar on a SFO route in May.

744 out
346 in.

I think someone hasn't fully updated the tool yet.

The booking engine is probably wrong - according to the booking engine, my return flight from SFO is a 346 but in Manage My Booking, the seat map shown is a 744.

On a seperate but kind of related issue, how often are the seat maps AND the data in the booking engine incorrect?

My seat map (and the booking engine) is showing 343 back from Delhi when I return to LHR (23th January), and I had a 343 on the way out- according to the 'which aircraft tool, where 90% of flights to/from DEL are operated by 346, the likelihood to be this unlucky is 1%!!

I know I'm probably clutching at straws...

Looks like VS is allocating aircraft as best suited to loads and routes, and it will all get sorted out, so do keep checking.

For example, looking at EF just now, it shows a 343 out and back on these dates, so my guess is that VS are just working through the systems, and the aircraft change had not replicated to the Web site when you looked.

That sorted, there is one other possible explanation for such a change, that is that the aircraft may have gone on to Manila for servicing, and a different aircraft was returning from servicing - although this usually happens at HKG or VS simplies flies direct. But I don't think it applies in your case.

Well inbound 30/1 has now become a 343 so I guess that's what it will be :(!
