Champagne?

A previous post has got me thinking...

Our last three flights have been in UC but our next two are both PE. Is any champange (or anything fizzy?!) served on boarding? It is hubby's birthday so if the fizzy stuff is scarce I will pre-order us a bottle? It is a long flight after all ):

I have had a look at 'my booking' and don't seem to be able to add anything there and I also followed a link to 'celebrate onboard' but that took me to a site (retail therapy shopping) where it would appear the items are for home delivery?!

Any advice pls? :)

Ali :)

You do get fizzy wine served in Premium before take-off but it's not champagne.

The Retail therapy celebration pre-order service can also be served on-board the A/C (as with all Retail Therapy pre-orders), which if it involves champagne, you are able to drink on-board, so this would be your best option. :)

You can also purchase champagne from the on-board Retail Therapy selection (which is the same as the pre-order selection), again, if it's champagne, you can open and drink this on-board. (You cannot open or drink anything else from the on-board retail Therapy selection though)

The current choices of champagne are:

Moet & Chandon 75cl £30
Nicolas Feuillatte 37.5cl £13

I don't know if there's any facility on-board to chill it for you though.

There's plenty of ice buckets. :)

That's pricey for duty free, John Lewis has it at £30.39 for example and there are plenty of discounts on multiple buys around, including BAA who have two for £44!

Ahhhhh just realised where I was going wrong ii)

I had to register with 'retail therapy' before it would let me check out - doh!

Thanks for your replies, I know it is pricey but it will hopefully be a nice surprise for the old codger :D

We ordered a bottle earlier in the year when the whole family were flying out to IAD.

Was Verve back then and came with an ice jacket. The CSS was fantastic, approached us quietly said they had our order and were currently keeping it cool. They then served with flutes (no plastic beaker!) and chocolates thrown in much to the envy of the rest of the Y cabin.

Of course duty free brought in the airport cannot be consumed on board IIRC.
