Given Extra Miles??!!

Om my last trip from NY to London, I was booked into an X fare, which is discounted economy. According to my FC account, I earned 1,729 miles (50% of miles flown), which is correct. However, on the return trip, I was booked into either a Q, X, or N fare (I can't remember, but I know for a fact it was discounted economy), but VS put 3,458 miles (100% of miles flown) into my FC account. I am only FC Red, so I know it didn't come from a tier bonus. It also says "Virgin Atlantic Economy Class" next to it as opposed to the usual (Virgin Atlantic Discounted Economy Class). Has this happened to anyone else?

Are you sure you were in a discounted class? Q hasn't been classed as a discounted fare code for quite a while now, only X/N/O/V earn 50%, all other economy fares earn 100%.

It may have been a Q fare, but it was a special student airfare deal, and those are almost always booked into N or X. Unfortunately I no longer have my boarding pass, and my FC history doesn't show the fare code.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's to your advantage!!!

If you're really interested, though, if you've still got your e-ticket, I'm sure that has the booking class stated.

As Neil has said, you'll probably find you ended up in Q - for whatever reason.

If you really want to know as an intellectual challenge, and you can't sleep if you don't know, give FC a call - you might lose the miles though!!!
