I have only flown with Virgin once before in 2006, am off to NY in March for my honeymoon.
My FC card has run out, but I was hoping to restart it and get some points for my wife to be registering as well.
Can I still do this or do you have to wait until the flight has taken place in order to reactivate the account?
Thanks,

There is no advantage to resurrecting your old account. Someone here - even me - will be happy to make a referral for you using miles more friends - you'll get a bonus and they will too. Once you've signed up you invite your missus through miles more friends and you'll get a bonus and so will she.
Miles only post when you fly and membership cards will only come after the flight, but you will have your membership number. So you can start using that to direct any non flying miles straight away (e.g. hotel stays, credit card spend if you get one, etc)
Send me a pm with your email addy and I'll send the invite.
Regards

I think your account is still there but after three years of inactivity you will have lost any miles you had.
Best give FC a ring and get it reactivated THEN you can introduce your wife as a member and get the introduction bonus as you can include hew FC number in the booking.
Oh and congratulations !

Any fare code qualifies for the MMF scheme.

I thought reward and M+M fares didn't?

See:3.2.4
http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/tsandcs/earningmiles.jspThere are some fare codes not listed, not sure how things like package hols who utilise VS would work. The other thing to double check is your "friends" did the enrolement through the proper channel out of the MMF process.

I was referring to any full revenue fare code. You are correct that MPM nor reward seats are MMF qualifying.
