V-Flyer

I have allocated myself two seats from the website which I belive are Extra Legroom seats for the VS63 tomorrow. Ie a pair of the 2 seats at tghe back on the LGW 744(i)

Will I have to pay for these at the Gatwick when I bag drop? I intend to use OLCI later? Will Virgin honour my assignment?

Are you sure the seats you have allocated yourself are extra legroom?

Originally they were only allocated at the airport, though there have been reports of them being allocated in the days before a flight when people have rung up to do it.

These are the seats that you have to pay extra for :-

I think the seats you have requested have extra space from the window seat to the fusalage. All the 744 H/K and A/C seats for the last four or five rows have this space between them and the fusalage and many people classify it as being extra leg room. All other extra leg room seats are just allocated at the airport.

Thanks Nick, I know that last year flying MBJ-LGW we were charged $60 at bag drop for picking the "double seats" through OLCI.I laughed because they wouldnt accept by Virgin Atlantic Amex card!

I assumed that they were extra legroom, perhaps they are not!

As Nick has pointed out, the different a/c have them in different positions. It is likely you will be on the a/c fitted with the Nova IFE and these dont have extra leg room in the pairs at the back.

If they were then they would have had purple seat covers, instead of the normal ones!

hhhmmm sounds like a scam, you pick the seats and the staff charge you??

The extra leg room seats can be pre booked via the contact centre or only the airport.

Your unable to choose the seats in advance via online check in,
