Hi there
Newbie to the forum. I know there is a separate section of the site devoted to seat reviews etc but i cant really find the answer I am looking for. My current fiancee and I will be taking a flight to and from CT on the Airbus 340-600 for our honeymoon later on this year. We are flying upper class and i wanted to see if there were any recommendations on the best seats to pick. At the moment we have full availability to choose from so was wondering things like
1) is it better to both sit in window seats one behind the other or across the aisle from each other
2) what would be the best two seat combination?
at the moment i have 5 and 6 K booked but would really appreciate any help
thanks a lot

5 and 6K on the A346 are great seats - I would definitely stick with what you have. You are opposite the wall there so you are not facing any strangers as well as being a good distance from both the toilets and the bar.

It comes down to preference, but I think you made a good choice. Though, I would choose seats 3/4K as I want to be as close to the front as possible but not next to the toilets. Though, I'm used to the A340-300 so 5/6K might be the equivalent for the A340-600.
If I was travelling with 4 I'd probably choose A/D seats but for 2 I think the K side is best.

Welcome Newbie. Hope I get a referral fee!
I'd head for the snooze zone on the way home - you'll probably be tired!!

Welcome to the site.
In addition to the answers you already have. If you click on 'advanced search' and search 'couple' or 'couples' then click topic title only, there are a whole host of threads on this exact subject.

I didn't think there was a snooze zone on the Cape Town flights? (I assume CT = Cape Town in the OP!)

No, no snooze zone on the CPT flights. For a couple, I'd say that 5/6K are ideal. Any further up and I'd feel a little too close to the loos.

thanks for all the great advice. took a look at some of the older threads on similar topics and at the moment i have changed it to 4 and 5 k from 5 and 6 k. I am now doubting if that was a good idea. Having no real knowledge of UC, im wondering what people mean by "facing the wall" - what wall exactly and would i still be facing the wall in 4k and 5k as much as 5k and 6k
sorry for novice questions

Hi
The "wall" is a low level divider the same height as the suite, i.e. it doesn't go all the way up to the ceiling. So the cabin still feels "open", but when you are seated you almost can't see the people in the A&D aisle from the low K numbers. This means they are not directly overlooking you either, which is why the low K numbers are preferred by many, including me. 5 and 6 K are my seats of choice, but 4 and 5K are fine too.
You "face the wall" in K seats up to 7k, thereafter it switches to the A seats.
Regards
R3dV

There's little difference between those choices. You'll be happy with either!

This picture even though it is of a A343 shows "the wall" that you will be facing in those seats. Not bad at all and definitely more private.

Decisions. Decisions.
Why not just try out 6K on a trip before the honeymoon, to see how you like it. I hear Vegas is good for stag weekends...

Nothing to do with the nature of the trip then?

Wouldn't work as the plane for Las Vegas is a 747 and therefore doesn't have the wall

Don't need to tell the wife to be that though, purely be a research trip if she doesn't know otherwise :w

We flew into JFK last night in 4 and 5K, fabulous seats IMHO, near enough the toilets to be convenient and with a wall in front of you to have a bit of privacy.
OK, the bar is a bit of a trek rearwards, but I also found it very quiet (in terms of engine noise) being so far up-front...
I wouldn't lose any sleep over deciding whether to go 4/5K vs 5/6K , I honestly don't think you'd know the difference if you didn't know the seat numbers.......
