60 Tier Points? To fly or not to fly...

Hi

Frequent flyer & lurker, first time poster :)

I'll have 57 TP just before my TP gets reset and am wondering if there is any point in trying to get an extra 3 (probably via Virgin America)... I heard rumors that Virgin reward members on 60 TP but wondering if someone know more...

Thanks!

an extra Clubhouse invitation to give to family/friends

The invitation is for a single entry to either Heathrow or Gatwick Clubhouse. It can be used with or without the gold member being present and you can give it to anyone friend, family, colleague

I thought you got two invites???

Gooseman, any chance you can go for 100, then it gets juicy!

I switched some of my flying to VS in April 09 and had about 70TP which got me ... absolutely nothing.
That is the problem with the VS FF scheme - after you hit 30TP to re-qualify it gets dull. There ought to be other levels to make it more fun (and keep you loyal).

As for the 100TP marker - I have yet to find anyone who admits to having it and who will share the benefits (verbally .. I don't mean give me some !). I will hit 100 probably this year but I am not expecting much to happen.

Ive seen somewhere that you get a free companion flight once you renew gold membership. Is that not right? Was looking forward to that as I'll hit 30TPs to renew gold this autumn.

Cheers!

you do, but to use it, you have to buy a ticket in one of the higher more expensive fare buckets

More often than not it works out better to buy 2 tickets in the cheaper fares. Its just a gimmick really.

100tp don't get you much, just a diff team to talk to on the end of the phone, a few invites to events etc. Higher priority and so on.

There are other status groups that are irrelevant of flying club, TPs or flights taken, that seem to give you much more. But this is based on your "status" in the real world. I still go for Gold so I get the (ugly) card. :P

Yes you do. I have over the last few years but I have yet to use it. As Penny says you have to buy a fare in the higher buckets to avail of it. Often PE is a good bet as it is available for an S fare, but for UC - forget it!

Are you speaking from experience, if so I suggest that the service offered is not one valued, or your experience is different ...

I'm speaking from my farther's experience compared to mine. Also picking bits of knowledge up from VS staff.

I agree that I'm probably negative with "pams" as the service has rarely been executed correctly in my fathers experience.

I just believe that other status that Virgin label people with (regardless of tp) gets better results

I have not heard of "pams" and at 100 tps I was offered another unique service, which I believe is the same as Slinky, and it is a fabulous add on to Gold IME. It is the same coding and service - with a different suffix, to what others get without the TPs as I have moved to one of those and I still have the same Relationship Manager and offerings a have many other V-Flyers I know.

"Pams" is what u "are" or "get" (I have forgotten what it stands for :s) when you hit 100tp.

I have never heard of a "Relationship Manager" what do they do?
UNIQ can be irrelevant of TP. What suffix have you been moved to? (not trying to seem rude)
