Virgin Service question

Hi,

just discovered this site after browsing the net for trip reports, and am finding it to be fantastic!

I'm about to take my second round trip on Virgin to the US after being a devoted Delta flyer for a number of years. Got a call today from the company just to double check I'm all set to go. Is this normal? If so, then what a lovely touch! If not (the cynic in me coming out!) should I be concerned?

Thanks in advance

G

Is quite normal now, but at the time they usually mention purchasing extra legroom or exit row seats? (the cynical ones amongst us may see these calls more as an attempt to sell these products more than anything!) or did that not happen this time?

Perfectly normal, nothing to worry about!

The Outbound dialer team at Virgin are given a list of passengers to call on a daily basis - some selected at random to make sure all is well, otters selected as they meet the criteria for possible upgrades etc (that's the cynical bit).

Have a good flight :)

She did mention the extra legroom seats now that you come to mention it. But, she never offered to sell them to me. She told me that I could take two pieces of luggage which I didn't know about, so, I guess I came away with more than she did if that was the case ;)

That must really annoy the ferrets.

Sorry, couldn't resist... :)

I am now giggling to myself on the boat home with an image of a PE cabin full of small furry animals.

Miss G are you already travelling in Premium Economy or are you in Economy?

Well, VS is known for discrimination against Ferrets, Weasels and Stoats......

I'd like to blame the iPhone auto correct for this...rather than my lack of attentiveness.

I'm in economy on the way out and Premium on the way back. I figured I would cheekily chance it and see if I could bag a couple of empty seats to myself in economy as I'm not travelling at the weekend and maybe grab a comfortable sleep out that way. Looking at the seat plan and having asked the lady on the phone, I could be in luck. It means being at the back of the plane which I'm not so keen on, but it's saved me some money! The journey back is more horrendous in my opinion, so I opted to at least have some comfort in PE ;)
