Things got back to normal quite quickly after the last US snowstorms, hopefully will be ok :)

We've had a good covering in Chicago overnight, but tonight expecting up to 18 inches. Glad I'm here and not going anywhere for two weeks!

Myself, my wife & our two cats are flying home to the UK after living just outside Boston for the last year on VS12 on Wednesday (2nd) so I am concerned about the delays or any cancellation due to this storm.
Any delay will have an effect on the cats being allowed back to the UK due to timings of injections(ticks & tape worm)so when would Virgin decide they will pull the flight due to the weather & if it is cancelled will they let us know at the earliest moment. We are booking into Upper so would we expect a call or will it just show on website.

Best thing to do is keep an eye on 'flight status' on the VS website and anything on the Logal website too.

If the LHR-BOS VS11 is cancelled tomorrow morning then your VS12 will also be cancelled. It will obviously depend on the weather and if Logan is open or not.

I'm not sure you will get a call (UC or not) but they could text you so check your mobile phone number is correct within 'manage my bookings'

I was due to fly home last Thursday on the VS 10 from JFK and had a call midmorning to advise of the cancellation of the flight due to impending snow (and it really did snow heavily in NY and other nearby regions as slinky will confirm).
I would give Premier a ring ASAP and advise them about the cats travelling home with you (don't want them getting stressed out in a travelling crate if they don't need to).
Hope you all get home without too much trauma :) .

I'm meant to be traveling from SRQ to JFK tomorrow am and then onto VS4 JFK to LHR.
The problem is my flight from SRQ is cancelled BUT VS is still showing that the VS04 is still a go! ( not that I'm wishing a cancelled flight on anyone - even though it would make my life a little easier! )
Trying to get onto another flight into JFK is an option BUT I'll have to pay over $300.... if I do that and get to JFK only to have VS cancel I will not be a happy camper v(
Weather seems to be cranking up and moving toasted New York so I suppose I'll just have to watch and be patient

Where do VS show cancelled flights? I see flight status shows no flight for VS009 today (Tuesday) but I don't see a list of cancellations as such. Just if you search for the flight it will show no data.

I am in NYC right now and due to return to the UK on VS10 on Thursday.

Interesting at least VS009/10 and VS045 were cancelled today but there has hardly been much snow in NYC today, despite it being forecast.

Left JFK for SMF via PHX early this morning and I think I escaped the worst if it. Following Winter Storm Watch for NYC

'As of 5:00 PM today, the winter storm continues to move throughout the area. Rain is predicted throughout the evening, and sleet and freezing rain (snow in the northern counties) will begin around midnight and continue through Wednesday morning. Ice accumulations in the City are estimated to be ¼” to ½”. There will be dangerous driving conditions during Wednesday morning rush hour, especially for areas north and west of the City.'

It doesn't look good tomorrow (Wed) and not due to warm up for a few days but in my (limited) experience of winter weather and east coast airports they do tend to clear snow up quite quickly. Ice may be a different story, its due to hit -10C in NYC on Thurs night.

Virgin has an iPhone app which tracks flight status' which is good for checking while on the move. Travelling back to NY on Fri me, good luck all..... y)

Best thing to do is check all flights leaving NYC on the day you travel. E.g. the early 0800 EWR dep is down as cancelled already for tomorrow (Wed). That doesn't look good for evening flights leaving JFK tomorrow although those ones are still scheduled as departing on time.

Thursdays VS10 did run, but 2.5 hours late due to crewing difficulties because of cancellations previously. The earlier VS46 had space and an email I had from VS suggested calling to transfer to that one. I couldn't do that, but maybe others did. Anyway VS10 that night only had 101 passengers onboard.

The crew were very apologetic about the delay and looked after us well. Bumpy landing into Heathrow though due to high winds.

A colleage was travelling with BA on the same route in the same period and had even less on board, so not just Virgin suffering lack of custom right now.
