Hello,
Noticed that G-VNAP is listed as completing VS815 HKG- MNL today.
Anyone know why the flight would be heading to Manila?

Search on Manila ... Lufthansa Technik have a big service operation at MNL and VS contracts heavy checks on the Airbus fleet to Lufthansa, hence why they visit.
747s btw go to KLM in AMS.

When Virgin use Hong Kong to swap A340's going to/from heavy service, all through passangers from Sydney have to change aircraft. Do they get compensated for in the inconvienence?

All passengers have to disembark in any case, so there is no inconvenience to speak of. I suspect that 99.9% of passengers wouldn't even notice.

Not even a hint of 'new plane smell'?
Tree shaped pine air freshner on the flight deck?
But I bet the baggage handlers etc are working like crazy to shift the luggage bins to keep to the schedule.

Useless if it's repeating what's already been said above.
Not useless to me, of interest!
