UC iPhone/Ipod charging

Hello,

I saw a mention on the VS website that all UC flights offer ipod chargers for "select" ipods.

Does anyone know if this includes iphones? Has anyone used them? Do they charge or just provide power?

Thanks,

Luke :)

They will charge, but it is variable that the flight has then on it, so ensure you are fully charged before flying!

Hi,
We have 'gaming packs' available on all flights for use in J.
Yes they charge iPods and iPhones, just ask the crew for one onboard!

They have had the cables on all the flights I have requested them on.

What's also good, is that they work with iPads :) (provides power, charges but a negligible amount) Great for when you're on an A343!

Honey lamb didn't have a great experience of the cables though!

I forbore from mentioning this. It could have been that my iPod was on the blink but it has made me make sure that my iPod is fully charged before a flight

My devices have been fine though :), but after HL made me aware of this event in the TR when I asked a similar question in the past, I often check that they aren't getting hot, or only have them plugged in when I'm using them.
So HL's warning was helpful to me.

I wrote to VS outlining the problems I had had and got back a standard letter which basically said, yes we got the report, our engineers could find nothing wrong, tough luck but we welcome you on board for future flights. Well I was having none of that. I had walked on board with a perfectly functional iPod and had walked off with a dead one so I sent another letter saying sorry but the FSM was there when we became aware that the Pod had overheated and that we had both smelled burning, that I was not "trying it on" and that as a gold member I expected better. I received a letter back asking me to price the cost of a replacement. My iPod had been an iPod mini and I was aware I had given this detail to the FSM so no bumping up of the model. I priced the iPod nano which had replaced the mini and received an cheque by return of post for the price of an iPod nano which satisfied me and when I was in New York a couple of months later, bought an iPod Touch with the proceedings (and of course an add-on)
