I will be flying on vs19 this summer and was wondering if people could tell me what meals and how many you get on this flight within PE

You can see the menu for Winter PE flights to the US here

The menu will have just changed for March and it shall be the menu for March, April and May I believe. Then a new choice of meals will be available in June. But this should give you an idea of what is served.

Enjoy your trip to SF :D

I don't know as I have never flown PE. However I am sure someone will be along shortly with an answer to your questions. Also you could flip through some of the recent trip reports as many mention the food options.

I stand to be corrected but doesn't the economy, including Premium Economy menu change every six months not three months?

I thought the PE food was actually worse than the food served in economy. My parents just flew back from PE and said their meal was brilliant, so I guess it depends when you fly!? I wouldn't bother with the breakfast though if I were you.

Yes the PE and Y menu changes every six months (March and September I recall). Its the UC one that changes every three months.

When I went to New York we had the meal ice cream run and the snack before landing so surely for vs19 to the west coast there is another snack run of some description? Anyone out there flown vs19 in PE and care to shed some light on the situation???

Food drink service in PE/Y on a West Coast is:

Drinks-Meal-Ice Cream-Hot Snack-Afternoon Tea

PE to east coast is drinks, hot meal, fruit bowl, ice cream, revolting sandwiches

PE from east coast to UK evening hot meal, fruit left out, something that is laughingly called breakfast but shouldnt be served to Ryan Air customers.

as you may have guessed the second 'meal' does NOT impress, for the money surely VS could do a bit better ??

I agree with other comments that the PE breakfast is awful!! Main meal is normally ok, but nothing much else to talk about.

I just came back from SFO and we had a nice meal and the snack was a hot chicken wrap. I thought it was okay actually. On the way back, the brekkie snack was a cheese and ham roll which again was okay.

Well having been on VS001 yesterday I kept the PE menu as I'd seen this thread before setting off. VS001 operated by Cover Girl hit quite bad tubulence as we approached the east cost of the US. Cabin crew told to take their seats etc.

Anyway on with the UK to US PE menu:-

Salad - Smoked salmon with mixed lettuce & fresh lemon

Main courses:-

Atlantic salmon fish cake with Mournay sauce and spring vegetables

Beef hotpot topped with sliced potato and served with roasted mediterranean vegetables

Vegetable Jalfrezi with steamed rice and Bombay potatoes

Warn Bread

Desert - Belign white chocolate and raspberry truffle

Chese & Biscuits - Croxton Manoir red Leicester with cracked black pepper crackers

Tea & Coffee

Wines:-

Sanderling White, South-East Australia
Sanderling Red, South-East Australia

An ice cream pot was served mid flight and Coronation Chicken sandwiches just as the turbulence struck.

thanks for the posting, the salmon was already the starter but the new mains look ok.

shame about the turbulence -sems a very common occurnece right now down the east seaboard.

still get the crappy sandwiches though :-(
