Why would you do that ?

Doing a miles plus money booking will cost you more than a regular booking IF you buy the miles first.

There is a clear link in the flying club section on the VS site.

Depends what the saving is I guess. Some big savings reported fairly recently, although mainly in UC.

You have to be logged in as an FC member and the links are then pretty clear.

£15/1000 miles plus a £15 admin charge. If you have an Amex card with Membership Rewards, you can buy miles at £15/1000 - no extra admin charge.

I do believe that you can only buy miles once you have "earned" some or have some in your account. As when I first started my account I had to tip some miles from my Amex before the link would open up to allow me to purchase miles.

I am sure you are aware but the odd click-through purchase in Flying Club will keep your account current and prevent miles expiring.

Quite possibly, I had already used the card to trigger the 40000 bonus points anyway. Didn't see a link online - didn't even occur to me that you would be able to buy MR points, but saw a reference in the terms and conditions to it so I called the helpline.

If I use my miles to buy two flights do I have to fly or can I buy them for two other people?

its not very clear, I am logged in and there is no physical way of buying the miles.. we fly on the 27th sept to the 4th to Las Vegas want to do the flight in prem eco its cost £980.00 return when doing with miles plus money otherwise its going to cost an extra £375 .. extra so i guess the millage is worth it..

If you are logged into FC then the 'buy miles' option is the 6th one down under the FC tab (in red)on the left of the screen.

But if as you said in your original posts you have NO miles because they have expired then you won't have had any earning activity in the last three years (which is why your miles expired in the first place) and so you won't be able to buy any. You need to have had a valid earning opportunity to be able to buy miles.
