Link to story on Independent website.I thought I would put a positive spin in the thread title - they actually came 99th in the survey by Atmosfair. B)
Not a good advert for SRB's supposed green credentials.

Monarch, a charter and scheduled airline operating predominantly from the UK, was judged the world's most efficient airline, with Atmosfair praising its efficient aircraft and high seating density.
Ended up on one of their aircraft last year... they've certainly got the high seating density bit sorted there I tell ya! (Although the plane must have been about 20 years old.. would question how efficient it was!!)

Who cares, airlines are not green, full stop. Pretending to be so is a straight forward fallacy and they shouldn't even pretend to be in that game. Economies should not judge all participants in the same way.

Agree with you there! I'm pretty sure they would implement a 4-4-4 seating plan if they could!!

A largely pointless comparison in my opinion. By factoring in seating density, airlines with first/business class cabins self-evidently operate with higher CO2 emissions per passenger than those without.
Ironically, it would be more meaningful from an environmentally perspective (but equally pointless) to compare total CO2 emissions for each airline ie smallest airline at the top of the table, largest at the bottom!
