Seating plans

If I book VS19 LHR-SFO on Virgin I cannot see the seat map until after I book.
If I book the same flight on continental.com (a CO code share) I can see available seats before I book.
As it is a VS flight this either seems daft - or I am for not seeing how to do that on VS.

It is a feature that a lot of US carriers offer, but not something that the UK ones seem to be keen to follow.

Your right, it's irritating, and it's not even as if VS couldn't do this (they release the seat plan to Expert Flyer for example) just that they choose not to. It's an example of poor imagination and poor service which would be great to see reversed!
