The lounge network is German - Gutted!

In the LHR Lounge right now and tried downloading a couple of episodes of the excellent Spiral from the BBC iPlayer website to watch when in Boston. All seemed normal until I was informed that "this service is not available in your region".
For those who are not familiar with how the content on BBC works it is location sensitive using IP address.
The trouble in the lounge is internet access is run by T-Mobile, who have recently merged with Orange (owned by Deutsche Telekom). Orange appear to run the ISP networks and route everything through a common network with a German IP address - so no BBC iPlayer video content.
So sat in UK lounge and the BBC think I am in Germany - NOT HAPPY n(

It's the same in Gatwick lounge. Was trying to watch the Grand Prix last Sunday but was no good.

Just like my work. I work in the UK but as my firm is American, I can't view any BBC video content as our proxy server is routed through the US. Although, I've no problem with the US sports sites. y)

Apparently it is a recent thing - cannot say myself as this is the first time I have tried downloading location sensitive data from the lounge (silly me for running late!)

Write into VS and let them know. At the same time ask them to change the network access to a SSID and not a browser page and password (which can mean repeat log-ons for iPhones and iPads)!

been like that for a couple of years at least, as when I have tried to access Quidco to do my daily clicks from the CH its always flashed up with a message saying only for UK customers.

I've had this on Virgin Trains, again with TMobile. I assumed it was to limit media downloads which would take up too much data...

Ain't that a pain?
I seem to recall setting up a VNC server for the purpose of accessing things in a different country once a long while back, but that would probably be overkill
