So, listening to him speak he said, his actual words "we want to bring in an alliance partner", within a few months this will be announced to give "strength that VA will be around for another hundred years".

So by the summer, VS will be in a global alliance - I hope *A but it could still be SkyTeam. IF, selling is on the cards, I believe it more likely to be SkyTeam.

Not sure that means selling, although that could still happen.

Thanks for posting Bill. I really want VS to get through this stage so it can focus back on service, innovation, and routes. You get the strong sense that this has derailed attention from running the core business at the moment.

The greatest danger would have been VS being broken up - LHR slots sold, B&S sold to the likes of TCX, etc.

While SRB could then have started anew without a large stakeholder that had no interest in investing more and growing the business to take advantage of opportunity, that would have resulted in massive disruption.

I agree with Slinky that we need to get through this quickly - staff, at all levels, need to know where their future lies.
We do not need people trying to carve out their own future niche without considering the business as a whole.

The video interview includes quite a lot about Virgin Galactic.

SRB states that he expects a resolution in the next quarter, and is talking to 3 potential partners.

I'd guess that they are:
- Star Alliance
- Sky Team
- A Virgin Group/Etihad tie-up

Another instalment of this soap opera on Bloomberg here. And another maƱana set of comments.

I can't help but feel this ongoing uncertainty is poor for business, and unsettling for staff.

Interesting to read at the bottom of the piece that Virgin America is cutting back its planned uptake of A320's next year from 12 to four or five aircraft.
