Don't believe all you read from the automated updates.

I may have been expected to depart on time at 19:45 local but I did not board and I certainly did not depart on time or ever for that fact. :(

VS012 Flight delayed, delayed and delayed again. Now cancelled. KAPUT.

At least I was in the clubhouse for all this time (great shrimp pesto on rice), although still no small sweet sherry due to Lent.

Now need to collect luggage, rebook then over to the hotels.
That was painful and has taken hours (00:10 when finally sorted). n(

It appeared that VA had no real plan in place or if they did the cancellation happened so late that they were taken by surprise and were using a massive delay in re-booking as a cunning plan to arrange suitable accommodation. v(

Apparently an engineering fault displayed an alert upon landing. When the symptoms was investigated the solution required a replacement screw that was only available from the UK so end of the line for VGFOX and all bets are off.

Believe it is a 600 tomorrow with v-port (fingers crossed).

Due to 24hr delay Mrs S now has to travel up north with all the mini Sav's but without her stag who will need to train it up solo a day late (Virgin to Liverpool). :( :(

Felt a tinge of sadness for the flight crew as their red coats made them stand out (they are supposed to afterall), so lots of passengers stopped them as they were trying to leave the terminal to ask for information on what to do. I saw 3 separate members of the FC on 3 separate occasions explain to tired confused passengers that they were as unfamiliar with Boston protocols as they were and that FC had no control over events that were unfolding so it was better to pay attention to VA (swissport) ground staff.

Point of note here - ground staff need to have a decent PA system to address 223 passengers - IT WAS CARNAGE! :0

Anyway happy that Virgin put safety first on aircraft, after all you only need to be unlucky once and it is a very, very bad day!

All tolled - That's life, suck it up and take it on the chin! B)

Home tomorrow? I hope so. y)

Miserable experience but as you say better to be safe. Communication is all important in cases like this even if the news is disappointing.

Sorry about your frustrating evening but glad you saw the safety side of things. Hope all goes a bit more smoothly this evening. One of my friends was on the crew, they really did only find out last minute that it was going to be cancelled.
