How about palm springs, best place/area and hotel to stay for 3 day visit(first)

Hello from Palm Springs ... some questions:

- when are you visiting
- what interests
- what budget (e.g. luxury, mid-range, cheap as chips) and type of hotel (young / old, active / quiet / good for children) etc.

Other than that it's a beautiful place, I think it'll be 103F today but dry heat so manageable, and plan on renting a car!

am visiting early september happy to spend $200+ pn and my wife and i are 45-55yrs ( sry for descrition but she would kill me ) looking to take in as much as possible in 3 days but still be in a resort type hotel....Have been directed to Westin mission hills resort and spa. any thoughts on that hotel/area??
