Post-holiday blues

Curious to hear how people cope with this? I try to alleviate it by thinking ahead/booking another trip, but even so, that end-off-holiday feeling is tough to get over....

Completely agree!! I really struggle when returning for 2 weeks or more away.

The definite cure is to look though pics and think about the great time you've had and of course look ahead to the next!

I like to take a few reminders to work with me I.e pics or postcard, magnet.

I spend most of the year looking at where I'm going next. I like to have more than one idea on the boil at once. Even if it's just a city break in this country! ;)

Plan a virtual trip. Do a money-no-object holiday to all the places you want to go. Then, when you look at the price, you lose interest ;)

Don't you just hate it when you spend months looking forward to your trip, then all of a sudden its over and within an hour of being back at work it feels like you have never been away!!!

How true that is. As MrsPJH points out though, without the misery of work there won't be the joy of holiday :)

I find writing it down in the TR helps extend the feeling, but still the best way is to start planning the next one.

I was so concerned that during our month long honeymoon over xmas and new year, I spent time booking flights for our Florida trip next week. Certainly coming back mid Jan after a 4 week trip was awful. having the next one in the pipeline certainly helps.

I tend to constantly look at photos of all my previous holidays and wonder how to make the next holiday just as good! 8D

I often find myself feeling more in need of a break after being home a few days than I do before I go lol. Interesting to see how many of us try to ease the pain by booking or looking at going somewhere else. What I don't get is that I do already have another trip organised for later this year - but am still feeling the blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We always have at least three booked - 4 at the moment - so that helps. But some holidays are sooooo good, they are terribly hard to let go of.
