Quick question on an upgrade

Ok looking to go back to Vegas on VS43/44 - prices have gone up so much!!

If I book economy (ebookers have a much better deal if I book flights and hotel together) can I upgrade to PE through virgin and how do I know how many of the cheapest PE seats are available?? (I think there are as there are miles+money available on that day)

Cheers all,
Nick

ps - will it still be a 747 in OCtober?

If you book via a third party agent then any upgrades etc have to be done via that agent, you wouldn't be able to do the upgrade direct with VS.

The other thing to remember, the fare you are probably booking with say ebookers, will be a heavily discounted and restricted fare (likely to be N or O fare codes). So even if you could upgrade with VS, you would still have to pay the £100 or so change fee per person and then whatever the difference is between the fare you paid and the current lowest PE fare.

The LAS flights are still scheduled to be operated by an LGW 747.

Thanks,
Neil

As Neil says, however there is an off chance, and would only be a chance that there are offers on the day at chk-in to UG to PE. Will depend on loads and general rule would be little change from £200

Have you priced the same flight direct with VS? And scouted for independent hotel deal?

Yep and I can get a Miles plus flight in PE for £1k return.. but then the hotel is so much more. How far in advance can a load check be done?

Bear in mind that only certain fare codes are upgradable - usually the cheapest fares (offered on 3rd party sites)are not upgradable.
It is also not as simple as paying the difference between the fare paid and the upgradable fare as VS probably will have no idea what portion of the mponey you paid was for the ticket/hotel.

However all rules seem to change on the day depending on load etc.
