I am currently booked in a B class ticket in Economy - can that be used to upgrade to PE with FC miles??

Recently a member of the UK call centre team told me Y B & L fares can use miles to upgrade. However when a colleage from work was travelling with me I wanted to use my miles to upgrade her to PE, she was holding a B ticket - intially we were told yes and then told no.

Given the confusion the check in agent did it anyway.

There needs to be reward seat availability in PE...
L should be cheapest, but be warned check against cheapest PE fare in sale

Log into flying club go to Spend miles-upgrade-choose fare code in drop down box

Remember to add PE tax/surcharge difference....

Dummy book a miles reward seat on the flight you want to see if there is availability (ie a seat that can be used to upgrade into)

Yes - a 'B' is upgradable using miles see the fare code page


BTW you dont need to be logged into FC to use the upgrade search option and as the 'B' fare is listed as an option there it stands that it is upgradable !

Looks like someone at VS needs a refresher !

Thansk tfor this - so I am ok on a B ticket provided upgrade availability is there.

What about a Y or L? in the fare codes section the links for those seem broken

Are you looking here ?

And remember to have the lowest fare tab ticked if looking for Economy fare..

Then have the spend miles tab ticked in PE for upgrade availability - you WILL need to be logged in for this part.. |:)

yes Y and L are upgradable too - again as long as there is availabilty.

If you are looking on the v-flyer farecode table then you may need to clear cookies as there have been some problems in the past with these links.
