A huge thunderstorm hit the Orlando area, well most of central Florida and the airport at Orlando suspended flights for a time this afternoon.
Many flights were diverted, I understand the VS27 went to Sanford for a time......

Cheers Jon. I'd seen the weather forecast and assumed as much.
Off there again in 2 weeks so hopefully none of that!

The VS71 and VS75 entered the hold for a time before managing to get into MCO. The VS28, 16 and 72 are all delayed leaving MCO tonight as a result...

I'll second that;
An observation; Floridians dont seem to realise how to drive in torrential rain.
Very nearly rear-ended coming off I4 onto Sandlake to get to the Florida Mall. We were at a standstill, I had put the hazards on (do they do that here?) but he wasn't slowing! in the end he shot onto the hard shoulder next to us. I think he was texting or something. Scary. Still, his Scion would've come off worse versus our Jeep!

The only people that can drive over here are from the NE, the rest are horrible.

the driving here is pretty appalling but worse 'in season' (up to March, when the snowbirds are around. Stay away from anyone from Michigan -they are generally 110 years old and 4 foot tall and cannot see over the steering wheel. it is genuinely scary.
we also had a huge storm during the night -took out the power. Its worth remembering to unplug things on charge plus Tvs etc as a power surge can wipe them out

The worse are the idiots who in the middle of a huge downpour are still driving around without their headlights on!!!!!
