Travelling to Vegas in September out of Gatwick. Flying out in PE & flying back in UC.
I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount to upgrade just wondered if anyone had a rough idea how much this might cost?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Welcome to V-Flyer.
Who did you book with?
If you booked with VS, then you should be able to see in the 'manage my booking section' of the website how much an upgarde will be.
If you can't see a price, it could be that there are no UC suites left. If you are on one of the LGW 747s, as it is highly likely you will be, then bear in mind here are only 14 suites available, and they often sell out.

At the airport, they *tend* to be around $995 / (weirdly) £995 (yeah, there's no exchange rate factor!) each way, from memory. They often have a sheet printed at the podium or check-in desks with "today's upgrade price" but it seems quite consistent.
That DOES, however, rely on there being seats available - which, as Nick says, is rare on that route...

Thanks. I did book direct though Virgin, just had a look online & can't see an option to upgrade so I guess its full?

If there is nothing listed in 'manage my bookings' then you could just give VS a ring and ask.
But as Nick and Preiffer say it is only a small cabin of 14 seats on a popular route.

Did you originally book it as PE out and UC in? Or have you upgraded the inbound separately? Only reason I ask is that when I've upgraded 1 leg it has caused the MMB not to show any upgrade pricing despite availability.
I suggest calling, just because it doesn't show an upgrade price in MMB doesn't mean UC is sold out.
It could range from £600 up to £1k's!

Cheers.
Just one last question, in PE out of Gatwick have the seats got power points? If they haven't I won't bother taking my laptop.

A friend was offered a one-way PE-UC upgrade for £800 on the MCO-MAN route a couple of years ago. He was about to take them up on the offer as the guy at DTD check-in just said "eight hundred"... he then went and checked with the supervisor and came back and clarified that this was £800, not $800.

I rang a week or so to ask about LGW-LAS in Nov and the price they quoted to upgrade was £1920. I am assuming this was both ways but as it was not something I would pay I did not ask.

On the LAS route, I wouldn't bank on that being both ways.

I went to LAS from MAN two weeks ago and was quoted (at the airport) £1500.00 each, each way to upgrade from PE to UC.

I upgraded MIA-LHR from PE to UC for $250 plus 20,000 miles. Thought that was a good deal!
