VS have announced on their Twitter today that Holiday Inn are are a new addition to the FC family.

Miles earned:

300 Miles for qualifying stays at Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites.

400 miles for qualifying stays at Hotel Indigo and Crowne Plaza Hotels.

500 miles for qualifying stays at InterContinental Hotels.

Stayed at Holiday inn Birminham on 5th May...just got the 300 miles posted to my FC account today...had to chase them for the miles on 2nd June...looks like another deal with 6 weeks wait v(

Also stayed at the Hyatt in Paris 2 weeks ago, no miles yet...maybe another 6 weeks deal

Did you just waft you Flying club card under the nose of the check in staff. The reason I ask is on Virgin holiday in four weeks time and staying at both holiday Inn and Crowne plaza.

To earn the miles, you need to join the hotel priority club and make the hotel booking direct

Enrol and make a booking at http://www.priorityclub.com. Remember to choose Flying Club as your earning preference

The Holiday Inn miles were via Priority Club..then an auto transfer onto FC. You have to change your points earning preference in Priority Club first.

The Hyatt miles were via a direct "waving under the nose" card at check in...check in agent noted the number and said "500 miles for Sir".The FC number also appeared on my invoice on check out.

Don't forget your card or to change your earning preferences. y)

Is 300 miles per stay really the best value for money? I asked this question when I joined and for me it works out to get more miles per stay if I continue to collect priority club point and bulk convert them 10,000 for 2,000 miles at a time.

It probably isn't the most efficient way of earning miles but as I really hate the Intercontinental Hotels Group attitude..(a long, old story)....I will not stay in one of there hostelries unless I absolutely have to.. v(
This trip was booked by a client!.
Therefore I have no further ellegiance to Priorty Club either..I might as well have the FC miles.

BTW, the reason for my hatred of this hotel organisation is mine and mine alone, others will more than likely rave and shout about their own excellent experiences...no probs with that. y)

4 beach suites for a week, booked a paid for means "sorry sir, we have no record of you staying there so no points to your PC account....Would you like to book a stay with us today"...

:0 That is unbelievable! TBH I quite like the Holiday Inn's as they seem to be very consistent and even manage to put the points to my PC account after I had to do a very late booking because of missing my last train home after one too many drinks!

Prefer to get the PC free nights with the points myself

Just want to finish my personal PC to Miles saga, I looked tonight on my FC account and both the miles I requested on the 3rd May and 4th June have now been posted to my account. Maybe the snail mail CD finally came in the post!

Interesting, was looking at potentially transferring my points so have done some calculations.

By my recokening, looking at the value of rewards stays Vs Best rate deals, 1 rewards point is = to about 1 cent, or 0.6 pence (reward value about the same for stays in UK or US). I believe that 1 airmile is worth roughly 1 pence or thereabouts. So 10,000 priority points is = to £60 worth of reward stay or £20 worth of airmiles? One point to bear in mind though, this does not include special 3 nights for 2 or other special offers.

So on this logic i'll keep the Priority points until I can use them for a reward stay as have no need of the additional airmiles at the moment.

Grateful for any feedback on this logic (e.g. value of airmiles)!

I'd have been tempted to say "If you are certain I didn't stay with you, I had better call Amex/Visa/MC and charge back that £5,000 you have mistakenly added to my card account".

I bet they would find your paperwork pretty quickly then ):
