Can someone kindly tell me what.. "missing rows are blocked by VS for airport control" means.... I have just changed date of travel to JFK (planned 30/6 ..rescheduled to 29th), and there seems to be quite a number of "missing" seats....?|

Thanks

I think they are seats assigned at check in either online or at the airport. Usually the front rows of the cabin and bulkhead rows

Thanks for reply ... I think I'll check "my online booking" maybe 2-3 days before travel date to see whether any missing seats magically appear....cheers!

If they have been blocked for airport control ie allocation at the airport then I would have thought they would not be available at olci otherwise how could they be allocated at the airport?

a good point tonty.
however some of these seats do seem to become available at OLCI and some do stay blocked for the airport staff.

The first 8 or so rows in economy on the VS 346's are always blocked until OLCI opens.

No idea why this is but it's always been like this.

I checked out the flight on EF ...Y, PE showing as full ...UC ...24 available, but 28 seats were missing? I entered a dummy booking, and seats were available in PE, although not many. I'll just have to wait and see what's occurring at check-in.

Having switched dates (nervous about airport disruption 30th), methinks I'm in for a very busy flight :-)

Probably - in the same way that Ryanair blocks off the front rows when there isn't a full load on board
