recent travel with Virgin Atlantic

Hi, Just thought I'd jot down a few lines about my recent travel with Virgin Atlantic.
I flew from Manchester to Las Vegas (return) in June, I traveled in Premium economy both ways in the bubble.
I was quite shocked at how old the plain look inside now, I know there is a refit soon for the Manchester 747's and its long over due.
On the outward flight they ran out of choices for the meal's leaving members of my party with nothing they could (or would) eat, the seat was broken in front of my dad and when the guy in front put back his seat it was resting on my dads knee?!?
I think the crew members had family on board as there was a guy sat on the jump seat at the back of the bubble with a child that ran up and down the isle!?!
The return flight was not as bad but my seat was broken! if i sat back it hit the wall behind (I sat in 80K at the back) the flight crew were a lot better and we had all three meal choices, my only gripe about the meals was that the veggie breakfast was only a very small portion of mixed fruit and a banana!
If this was my first Virgin Atlantic booking, i don't think I would be so keen on booking with them again, but as i have flown Virgin for years now I know it is usually a lot better than this, Come on Virgin you can do better than this! there are good passengers outside london, Please stop sending all your naff planes up north. :(!

Doesn't sound a good or acceptable trip for you.

Unfortunately, until the LGW/MAN 747's (the same a/c work out of both MAN and LGW) get their long over due refits starting April next year, the situation isn't going to improve. I don't want to start the whole North/South thing, but do remember MAN had the first brand new A330 with the latest IFE on it from April, and after these refits, should actually have the newest seats/IFE on the 747's working ex there.

We flew in PE on one of the a/c in April, and our experience couldn't have been any different, maybe a lot of that was down to the crew, which is something that can vary flight to flight. Unfortunately again, it seems you didn't have good crew, and that is never acceptable.
