What would you do? The prices for LGW-LAS PE are £867 full price or £817 M+M. Are the 15,000ish miles worth £50 more or should I just go with the cheaper fare?
Options options... ?|

If you were to buy 15,000 miles on the VS FC website it would cost you £ 240
So you are not getting £ 240 off the normal ticket price.
It depends how many miles you have and how often you fly and when they expire.
If you are a long term saver of miles say saving up for a UC reward then you are probbaly better off by buying the £ only ticket and getting the 13,056 miles.

Exactly the calculations I've just done tonty! There are occasions where M + M is a great deal but very often they're not and buying the flight is a much better option...

Since you don't get any miles from a M+M flight, the total actual cost in miles is about 28K (15K from pay, and 13K lost out). Which puts the pound value as 435 pounds if bought. So a technical loss of 385 pounds there.
Then again, depends if you will use the miles. The rewards redemption/upgrade process (and the fare code of the seat) means you might not use them any other way.
