A fraught greetings from the Clubhouse

Well here I am in the CH after a fraught transit through LHR caused by a series of mishaps created by BAA, VS and my own good self. :w I am now ensconced in a hanging chair behind the bar with a glass of bubbly in front of me and the world is slowly coming back to rights.

I also have another catastrophe to report. The purple boarding cards are no more :0 They have been replaced by a slightly thinner card which is red on the back and according to the girl at check-in, is the same as all the other cabins. In addition the FC number is not printed on it.

Now, if you'll excuse me I have a treatment to see to.

Oh, and the mishaps? You'll have to wait for the TR ):

So the new UC BP looks the same as E & PE BPs?

Or is it a completely new design? I would certainly love to see a pic of it if design is different, if it's possible.

Also, I wouldn't be comfortable with it, if the FC number isn't on it.

Oh dear ! I hope the rest of your trip is much less fraught and far more bubbly hic :0

As for the purple BP in Upper; I for one found them uneseccarily elitist and pleased Virgin have found a uniform replacement (much like BA) and as long as the FC number is known at the lounge and by the CC I can live without it being on it also as really didnt serve any useful purpose for us. 8D

Have a lovely flight and de-stress .......... :)

Well if you will go via AMS on a cheap ticket :w :w :w .

But glad you're now relaxing.

The new BPs were introduced at the beginning of June. Mine have had the FC number printed on them ...

That photo is the back of the new boarding pass. There is a space for your Frequent Flyer number on the front and also for all you lot, the SEQ number is now printed on the stub which you keep.

Thanks. :D The stub looks interesting, obviously it seems to be lacking some vibrate colour/design compared to the previous version.

Did you go rushing through security and run out into the duty free shop only to crash into the display of gin bottles? :D

last seen crawling on the floor with a straw shouting, "Don't worry, I've got it."

At least you got away before any possible industrial action. I'm on tender hooks awaiting a decision from BALPA and VA to what is happening. I leave on the 11th and looking forward to the clubhouse and that swinging seat provided I can get the wife out of it. have a geat time and we await the TR.

I recently travelled in PE and had the exact same style boarding pass, so certainly it applies to that cabin as well.

Perhaps they missed an opportunity and they should have designed them to be gold silver or red depending on your FC status, rather then your class of travel.

Yes yes, I know it would cause all sorts of issues with things like equivalent status in partner programs... but a nice thought nonetheless.

The purple may have gone, but it's been replaced with a large Upper Class running up the side.

Bon Voyage HL - at least you got to LHR without visiting other airports and endless bus journeys this time :D .
OK - it's official. I am elitist . I liked my purple boarding cards and think the new ones are naff- I still got issued a purple one in IAD this week but looks like that will be my last :( .Boo :(! .
FWIW they'd dispensed with the purple BPs in SYD a while ago too (at least a year).
