Given that all UC pax can now use the DTCI, can anyone recommend a local cab firm (local to heathrow) that you have used for DTCI in the past ?
We are stopping the night at the Premier Inn close by, there will be 4 of us with about 6 suitcases, so need something bigger than your average car.

Tristar - who virgin use provide an excellent service and are based at LHR. They have larger estate cars for more luggage.
Very reliable but not always the cheapest! At least they know how the DTCI works!

The issue you will have is that you have to give VS info on the make. model, colour and registration of the car at least 30 minutes before your pre-booked arrival slot at DTCI.
You cannot just drive up to the barriers, give your name and be let through.

Yeah, hence looking to see if anyone has used some trusted local firm who wont be awkward when I ask for the car and driver details when booking them

Tristar (on the web) are showing at £48 + VAT hourly rate... will give them a call to see if they pro-rata it

should only cost 10-20 then to go the 1 mile from the hotel to DTCI

Interesting costing from Tristar - not sure how the £48+Vat on their site compares to the £110 that I was quoted to get me to LHR from Hertfordshire - which would normally be a 45 minute journey.
I like Tristar, but that was twice as expensive as a local exec car firm...

I used londonheathrowcars.com for dtci. They text me the car details an hour or so before picking me up (so I could call virgin). Price was only £2 more than a normal taxi. Car was luxury saloon. Had to direct driver to dtci as he wasnt aware of the procedure.

Hi All,
I know l asked about DTCI before, but from what l am reading here can l assume that it is now not just the CDC that can use this facility.
Having said that, and also reading that one has to call VS with full details etc, is this really worth doing or are we better just getting dropped off at T3 for UC check in.
We will be staying at the Runnymede Hotel the night before our SFO flight and the concierge there offers a car service.
I don't really want anything to be too complicated!:)
Many Thanks

If you haven't experienced DTCI before I would definitely take the chance! I surprised my girlfriend with it, she couldn't stop smiling!

Have had some more quotes not.
londonheathrowcars.com came in at £35
hughdamien came in at £33.
Phone the DTCI number to "reserve" a slot, but was told they only take bookings 48 hours in advance. So will just have to wait.

That's about right. It gives VS time to look at CDC bookings and whY spots are availabke before opening it io to other possible users.
Despite the extension I think VS will want to ensure the J/D/R PAC get first dibs on the slots so you might need to be a little flexible.

Ties in my thinking atfter talking to Premium Line. Infact G will get priority over Z fares (if miles used to purchase a CDC)so the lady said "dont get your hopes up of using it, Sir, espcially during our busier times" Expectation management executed so with our Z we will be using the Heathrow Express with free upgrade to 1st thanks to our Gold cards
