Connecting from BA to VS at LHR (T5 to T3)

Afternoon All,

A smiliar, but reverse question to a similar thread on here (mods: please merge if I am out of order posting a similar subject!)..needs all you UC and Au V Flyers with connections expereience here, please! :)

I am travelling AMS/LHR (BA) then LHR/CPT (VS) on 27/11/11, so that means land at T5 and transfer to T3 to get the VS flight. :(!

I think I am booked on the same e-ticket as I can see the AMS/LHR flight as well as my LHR/JNB flight in my bookings on VS website under the VS flight reference number.

BA is in Club Europe
VS is in Upper Class :) :)

So, 2 questions please:

Do you think I can get my bags checked through to CPT without having to recheck them at LHR?

If I can get them checked through and follow the purple flight connections route, is there a VS desk to collect the relevant boarding pass and if not, how can I get Clubhouse access confirmation?

It's my first Upper Class trip so I want to be as prepared as much as I can to enjoy the CH experience! :o)
Thanks to all in advance.
Paul

I did AMS-LHR-SFO using BA/VS this summer in Upper. BA were quite prepared to check my bags all the way through and in fact had printed out the baggage tag. I chose to have them checked as far as LHR.

There is a UC desk when you arrive through Flight Connections in T3. In any case, even if you have done OLCI and printed off your boarding pass, the person managing the entrance to the CH has details of all passengers eligible for CH access. Just showing your boarding pass will suffice.

be interested to hear how using flight connections compares time-wise against going through arrivals at T5 & taking the Heathrow Express to T3. 20 minutes from de-plane at T5 to Clubhouse is my benchmark ;)

Well if you read my trip report you will see it took me an hour and a half!! Mind you, I was responsible for part of that :w

Here's hoping I hit the 20 minute target then...I have 3 1/2 hours between flights so need to milk CH as much as I can!.. ): Y'know...a mojito or 2 ... CH Burger etc..all per the recommendations by V Flyers!. y)

@Honey Lamb..I connect from MAN to AMS on the same morning again on BA...at least I know not to have their brekky :$

yup, its the lure of that first readhead that gets my feet tapping if i have to wait more than a couple of minutes for anything on that trip across heathrow. The worst part always seems to be having to navigate at speed through the sheep wandering all over the T3 duty free & shopping area. if anyone has any tips on how best to get through that mess without sending anyone flying i'd be happy to hear them :w

It's all in your head.

Pretend it's all over-priced hype and that you need all your cash for your trip and that your credit cards are maxed out...so you can't spend anything. |:)
..Oh, and remind yourself that the quicker you get through DF, the quicker you'll get to the redheads y)..

Don't need to pretend it is overpriced hype. Most if not all the products in the airport duty free stores can be frond for the same or a lower price in some supermarkets.
Whenever I travel with my family (one of whom works in ASDA) I always have the joys of spending time going through world duty free comparing prices to the supermarkets. :0

I generally find it quicker to go through world duty free rather than trying to get past the gawkers and waddlers who block the path to the right as you come through security.
