Finally done it, 1st trip to NYC flying into JFK.
Any useful tips for an NYC Virgin appreciated, or just anything useful.
My wife and myself are taking our 8 year old granddaughter.
Then onto Florida for 2weeks.
Thanks in anticipation.

45 is noted as ariving at a bad time and getting caught up in horrendous queues at immigration (took us 3hours in April)
what class are you flying and how much time between your connection flight ?

We are staying 5 days in NYC so do not have to catch a connecting flight. We are in 'T ' class I think booked with CO.
Thanks

ah ok then there isnt so much of a panic.
5 days is a long time in NYC IMO. you can cover the major sights in 2-3 max (me and my son did it in 1 but that was hard work)
are you after sightseeing tips ?

in 5 days you will be able to do a hell of a lot and be able to actually see New York rather than just 'see' it.
And by see I mean actually go into museums etc rather than just look at them from the outside aqnd tick them off some 'done' list.
There are loads of interesting things to do that most tourists don't do so take your time to do some planning and go off the main tourist path too.

Yes, well spotted.
I suffer from dyslexic fingers.
I should have spool chucked it.

What do you like doing? Are you a museum / gallery person or a more doing things like walks and bike rides type?
What sort of things does your grand daughter like doing?
How mobile are you and your wife (sorry taking your grand daughter leads to certain assumptions (probbaly incorrect) about your age)! Its no good suggesting you walk the Brooklyn Bridge if you cant walk very far or manage lots of steps.
If you private message me your email address I can send you a list of things to do I have compiled over the years.
What I would suggest is that over the next few months borrow as many guides from your library as you can and write a (long) list of all the things that interest you.
