The two fleets are different on-board, but is there anything that stops a LGW plane working a LHR route. If not has it ever happened?

It's more likely that a LHR plane covers a LGW route but I have a vague idea which may or may not be confirmed by others that there was one route (was it Mauritius?) that was served from LHR by an LGW configured plane

There is nothing to stop VS using a LGW plane on a LHR route and I suppose in dire emergency they would but the issue to consider is that a LHR 747 has far more UC seats (and so less Y) than an LGW plane which could mean a lot of unhappy UC pax being downgraded.

I've known a LGW plane operate to LAX before but it's very rare due to the small J Cabin. MRU was always on a 340.

BGI was served by an LGW aircraft in 2007/08 when the flight moved from LGW to LHR for the winter period!

Seem to remember back in 2001 when the LGW fleet was newly delivered, they seemed to operate out of LHR on a more regular basis. Although i guess the configs back then were more similar than they are now.
Seen pics on airliners.net of LGW planes in LAX, JFK, BOS, EWR and SFO.

Don't forget Ruby Tuesday used to be a LHR configuration back in the days. I'm sure there was another too. Maybe it was these that were in the pics?

VAST VXLG and VTOP were all LHR a/c before moving to LGW and being reconfigured

really 10 years ago they were all delivered??? Remember going on them to Vegas when they were brand new!!
Also, looking through the old pics, it looks much smarter having them all lined up in the same livery rather than the 3 different ones we have at LGW at the moment.
