well the full story is yet to be told but Im pleased to say I got my passport back at 5 past 7 this morning and am now ensconced in the No 1 lounge enjoying brekkie.

there is a new security set up upstairs which is superb, you scan your BP and pass through an automatic barrier and there are lots more scanners.

now awaiting a slightly delayed Ladybird and then its back to the sun :D

only problem is there is fog at LGW though not too bad at present

Can't wait to hear the full story, I take it the upgrade to UC was too much?!

Really pleased to hear you'll make your flight - but am cpnfused as to why you had to go to the US embassy for it - I know you live in Fla, but kind of assumed that as you leave the US frequently, you come and go on the 90 day visa waiver. Clearly I'm wrong.

Hope your trip back is good....

Can't wait to hear your verdict on the No1 Lounge - as I suspect I may have to partake in the future when I can no longer re-qualify for Gold

Ah yes, I experienced both lounge and automatic barriers a few months back. The barriers are a good idea; a lot of confused people - myself included when it stuburnly wouldn't let me through - but otherwise they're good.

No1 lounge (think it was south terminal) was fairly decent, quite busy though service wasn't too badly affected. Worth the £20 to avoid all the normos in the main concourse ;)

Me too! With the 'updates' the Clubhouse, the No 1 lounge is on par, and more fresh as well.
