Hi and welcome.
The MAN (and LGW) 747's are due to start their refits next year with the first due back in to service from next April and the rest to follow over the rest of the year.

The Manchester aircraft are the same as the LGW aircraft and these will be refitted next year with the first aircraft coming back around easter time and be finished before the end of the year!
This will mean new seats in all cabins as well as the latest JAM video on demand in flight entertainment!

Thanks for the replies have flown PE with Vigin for the last 7 years, cant wait for the refit.
Good to know that the IFE will be upgraded too although I only watch the skymap (sad in know)
Just booked for December wasnt tempted by the A330 we like the bubble on the 747.

im flying to MCO next august from MAN and i selected the VS075 and VS076 knowing it would be the new A330's, as i didnt know we would be getting a new 747 refit by then! Maybe i should change? or at least change the flight back to a later one, as i still prefer to fly out of MAN on the first flight at 11.
I really want to experience the new 747, especially if PE will still be in the bubble?

Until all the planes have had their refit there is no guarentee that if you changed your flight to a 747 operated one that it would be operated by a refitted one rather than an 'old' one.

Good news I cam back from Vegas last week on refurb 747. According Virgin all planes should be completed by end of October this year.

The refits are due to be completed by end of the year, not October

As this thread is almost a year old now, I will lock this one and ask that discussions on the new LGW/MAN refits continue in the main sticky thread in the departure lounge forum.
Thanks,
Neil
