What happens if you buy more than 30k VS miles in a given year.
Do they take them away and not refund you (which I read somewhere) or just glad of the income ?

Interesting question, I thought the fact you have to be logged in to your FC account to buy mikes, it would restrict the amount you could buy if you were close to your limit.
I'm sure they would refund you if you were able to buy more, there must be laws/reglations they have to abide by.

I've accidentally tried to buy more than I should - and the website certainly lets you know, and stops you

You could always buy via a third party and then transfer in to FC. Like if you have access to an Amex MR point card - £15/1000miles, no initial £15 loading (so cheaper compared to VS's standard pricing). Not sure how many Amex would allow you to buy, but it would be treated as a normal transfer over to FC, exempt from VS's buying limit.

You can buy 10k mr points in a year at £15 per £1k, however there is no limit on gifting mr points so if you know someone with a plat card that could be useful at a cost of 1k for £15 and no ceiling. y)
cheers
