Oh Dear.....

Virgin ignore passenger's medical needs

Sounds like SRB has his work cut out on this one, can't tell if the OP was being serious or if it was a made up complaint - the replies make quite funny reading though :D

Stick with it to the eclair / cupcake incident at the end...

Oh dear. Not sure what else to say

It actually got funnier the more I read, I thought the next paragraph was going to read that there was a beetroot stuffed in his pillow and live guinee fowl running around the cabin.

In all seriousness though, I think he may as well continue to travel in PE as he seems to have loved all his prior flights back there.lol

Cheers

Alex

Just shows what dangers lurk in the UC cabin......

loved the reply which commented 'No doubt the cabin crew did not see your crown, ermine cloak and sceptre when you and your servents boarded'. :D

I'm still laughing at the pastry allergy.

Pastry = flour = gluten? But they ordered the pasta for lunch. :P

I just cancelled all my flights in disgust. Never again will I fly Virgin. I am running out of bloody airlines though !

And ate a bread roll too ?| ?| ?| ?|

But how on earth would such a
very slightly built young female travelling alone
survive for two weeks in the 'wild west' mith minimal facilities?

No wonder there hasn't been a reply yet - the staff are still rolling on the floor and havn't stopped laughing !

The author of that complaint deserves some of the derision she has provoked, but not all of it. Some of the gripes are not exactly unprecedented (lukewarm food, cold cabin, no pen in amenity kit, V-port hanging).

Tinkerbelle wrote:I'm still laughing at the pastry allergy.

Some pastries contain egg and butter. Sometimes a drop of milk. It is possible for these to trigger allergies. The eclair which is at the centre of all this [and I never thought I would use those words in that combination] would be made of choux pastry, which would certainly contain butter. "Pastry allergy" doesn't necessarily imply gluten intolerance.

I know that the person concerned supposedly ate pasta and lamented the absence of cheese and ice cream, and so it all seems implausible... I know, I know...

Having re-read the post on Trip Advisor, the last paragraph caught my eye. Something sounded awfully familiar all of a sudden:

forum/index.php?f=4&t=271358&rb_v=viewtopic

Coupled with some particular dietary requirements:

forum/index.php?f=4&t=270451&p=786214&rb_v=viewtopic#p786214

:? :? :?

Thats one heck of a memory, Tinkers!

Certainly an interesting read...as for the amount of things that went wrong :0
I agree that some of the points raised may well have happened - but all of them, really?? :w

If she really had a serious allergy as is claimed, she would have been careful to pre order a special meal, so I suspect its complete tosh.

And although she can write an email she seems incapable of saying "Please may I have a cup of coffee" or "I'd like a glass of port" which is what most of us do after the meal service.

I heard in her follow up report that she could not even get properly skinned and gutted lizard to eat with her eggs benedict in the Mojave desert. :D

Oh dear, indeed!! I can't stop laughing at the inconsistencies!

I especially loved the bit:
I am concerned what would happen if, for example my mother, who does indeed have an anaphylactic reaction allergy, were to travel with your airline.

If that were the case surely she would be carrying an epipen? I have a friend who flies regularly - and when I say regularly, only flight crew fly more often. He has a severe tree nut allergy and his epipen is attached to him as much as his Blackberry, the latter of which would need to be surgically removed from him. :D

"and lukewarm tortellini!

I'm shocked that this flight did not divert to Winnipeg to replace those fake eclairs"

I have not laughed so much in ages

Well done Tinks - amazing memory.

I think the response on TA that sadly hits the spot says "OP - I read through your very long missive twice, but did not see where there was any medical problem, at least physical. Psychiatric may be another issue best discussed elsewhere."

The other really contradictory message is in the Vegas in March post: "OK I confess, I have got the UC bug big time now". It wasn't a bug it was poisoning!

But even then the post reads: "(think I was spoilt by my LHR-SFO, LAX-LHR late August £1450!)" spoilt should read nearly murdered!

Enough already :)

This post also helped too:

So the night flight back from LA was okay. Obviously there were no eclairs to confuse as cupcakes.

Oh dear God, hysterical!

Tinks - that does sound awfully familiar, coincidence? Me thinks not...!!

I did giggle though (at how pathetic it is)

Tinkerbelle, you've convinced me that I was ridiculously charitable in my earlier post. :| The reference to Vegas and the 60th is just too much of a coincidence...

I am sure we suggested she book a special meal, eat in the CH or as she had very specific dietary needs take her own food

Everyone suggested it - here's the thread.
