UC/PE Carry On?

I am LHR to EWR PE and EWR to LHR UC on the return. I only want to take hand luggage but PE allows 1 bag and UC 2. Has anyone had experience negotiating 2 bags on PE? I'm talking a small roller with 3 days of clothes and a small rucksack/laptop bag type thing.

Hi Daniel and welcome to V-Flyer

As long as your small roller is within the dimensions here and your rucksack could be described as "...Your handbag, pocketbook or purse..." shown on that link you should be fine. VS now officially say that you should pack your laptop in your main carry on, but that is IMHO nonsense and unenforceable. To avoid even having to discuss the issue at the LHR check-in desks, you should check-in online, print your boarding pass at home and then just turn up at the gate. You may be surprised to seee how much some people carry on :0

Thanks. I figured (probably wrongly) that I have a bit of negotiation power as I'm returning UC. I usually take VS1-VS2 PE-UC but then have internal flights and am out there for week+ but this time it's 72 hours there and back so no need for a full hold suitcase. My second bag is a shoulder bag so think I can give it a go.

We've just come back from MIA in PE & I had a small roller suitcase & a handbag. No probs at all, but I know that in theory that's not the rules.

You should have seen the amount of bags etc some pax were boarding with :0
