I usually just hand it over to the crew as they go through the cabin offering the in-flight duty free service.

I have seen them hand it to pax as they are coming down the cabin with the normal trolley - have seen a couple of pre-filled plastic bags on the top which the CC hand over once they have seen the receipt. On other times the bags have been brought down just before the main DF run with the CC heading for specific seats.

as crew i would say any time after dinner is fine, as this is when we will have the time to go get it. make sure youhave the reciept and double check your flight details and dates as often passengers put the wrong date and their order end up on the right flight a day later!!

Hi, I just did the same thing on a recent flight. I waited until they announced the duty free service and the CC come around the cabin taking orders. Hand over your receipt and someone goes and collects your order.
