Looks like the IAD flight is being operated by G-VGAL - might be some unhappy pax with the IFE and also lower number of UC seats! :?

Unusual, I guess there's a shortage of LHR 744s due to the NFL

Isn't G-VFAB a LHR aircraft? She's doing LGW-bgi today.

I wouldn't want to be a check in agent for Virgin today.

Yes she is an LHR config 744 - I snapped her outside the LHR CH a few weeks ago and flew back with her JFK-LHR.

Might not be too bad for some.... "We have a massive surplus of UC suites available today - would you like an upgrade sir/madam?" :)

It was also operated by a 600 yesterday. I suspect it was because a 747 was tied up with ferrying the NFL team back to Tampa.

It's not uncommon for a LHR aircraft to do the BGI run as that is one route where they can fill UC with relative ease in high season.

The VS45/46 seems to change to an A340-600 often these days. Usually it's just a couple of days a week, the rest of the time a 744, not not recently.
