G Class MAN - LAS

We have been looking forward to our next trip to Vegas in January, in PE (K class) from Manchester. We both have over 40,000 miles so Mrs C asked me to call FC to see if we could use our miles to upgrade to Upper. I said there would be little point as G availability to Vegas is at a premium and rarely available. Plus it would be too expensive anyway because we would need to pay for an upgradable ticket to S or W.

Mrs C refused to be beaten and it was clear she would not let this drop, so I reluctantly called FC. I spoke to a really helpful agent who was simply fantastic. The upshot is that we are doing the full round trip in Upper :). The total cost of the upgrade from K to S to G was £470 each! Needless to say I am eating humble pie and Mrs C is over the moon!
So am I! :D

Well done ^) ^)

Another chance to disprove the myth that UC Rewards are never available (but off course you do need to do the legwork and keep checking)

Excellent - I was looking at G's for LAS myself next year and there seems to be plenty around on all dates/months.

I think the guys in Revenue have been having a bit of 'G field day' as all of a sudden May 2012 is riddled with G availability on SFO-LHR. I'd been checking for two G's for months, as there are four of us out in UC but two of our group in PE on the return. For a long time there has not been a single G in the whole of May and suddenly today loads - in fact 4 on our flight! So I just called and parted with 40K miles to get the parents-in-law moved from PE to UC :)

Hi
Just to add to the happy tales, I had booked a M & M LGW-LAS, LAX-LHR for Xmas day out/ NYD back in PE. Having seen on a thread on this site that there were excellent deals around and having tried a blind booking to confirm there was availability, called FC and after a long chat ended up with S class rtn and 80,000 miles removed from my A/C to make a nice UC Xmas surprise for my better half. Many thanks again to VFlyer for bringing this kinda stuff to our attention.
