EXIT SEATS DILEMMA

We are faced with the same dilemma every time we fly. We are a tall couple who always pay £50 at checkin for exit seats in Economy. However, how frustrated are we sometimes when we turn round and find that there are loads of available seats in economy and we could have had 3 seats each. So before our flight next Wed, is it possible for a kind VFlyer member to let me have the flight load in economy, so I can make a more informed decision.

Thanks
Sandy :)

I think you can see how many seats are left if you look at manage your booking on Virgin's website. You need to look in the check your seat section.

firstly and ISTBC the manage my booking will not show all the available seats until OLCI opens -only 60% are pre released.

however even this wont really help as flight 'emptiness' can change even at a late time.

ihad the same quandry a while ago on a LGW-MCO flight.laod check and even a call to VS got 'wide open' however I still booked an ER seat. on the day the flight was rammed due to a number of PAX being moved up from the later on (s0 I was told) so it was worth it.

my advice -buy the ERs -if the flight empty you can always move seat after take off and stretch out. you will still get more leg room for at tale off and landing and even while you have your meal

Even when OLCI opens the seat map won't help determine 'emptyness' because a number of people won't have yet checked in and a fairly large number still leave it to the airport to check in.

A load check won't help either as they have limitations too.

You could always pay the £30 for extra legroom seats, rather than the full £50 for exit row seats. (If you booked direct with VS, you can call to book these, if not, it's an airport job).

I have to agree with Flaboud though, even a load check could be incorrect, current load check is below:

For what it's worth.

However, the seat map shows exactly that, just nine seats unbooked - with the caveat that some say EF is not always reliable.

I'd book the extra room!
