Hi All

Hope your weeks have been good..

I am going to Oz in December 2012 and wondering what everyones view is on the best way to fly... I want to fly Upper/Biz for the cheapest possible. I have companion flight to use and would quite like to see Hong Konh possibly.

So all advice welcome!

Nick

The companion flight is generally considered useless because you have to buy such an expensive ticket to be able to use it. I just looked and you'd have to spend a whopping £7,346 to use it. In fact it made me laugh as every box on the grid had "LOW" beside it :) as you can see below. (Click on the image and you will get a clearer picture).

You don't mention how many miles you have, but those can surely help. May be worth a call to the FC hotline.

Cheers

Martin

Royal Brunei have had great reviews from my family going to Oz (I haven't used them) but I recommended them on this basis to a family friend and they were very impressed as it was the cheapest J class by far. Unfortunately they don't fly to many destinations in Australia (Melbourne now I think) as the new CEO apparently realised that the Gov of Brunei was subsidising travel for expats to travel between the UK and Oz!

Might be worth a look!

Couple of years ago now but we booked UC on the day our return flights were available and got such a great discount via our travel agent (sorry can't remember their name now)that even VS said they couldn't match it. Well worth checking round and as someone else said ring the FC and ask them too.
