I went into Virgin Atlantic site today looking for flights to Melbourne in May 2012. Whatever dates I put in for the trip came back with "no flights on this date".

Do VA still fly to Melbourne does anybody know?

Virgin Atlantic (VS) have never flown to Melbourne, ?|

I assume the link on the website indicates a non-direct flight - via SYD and then onto Virgin Australia, maybe?

Melboune is selectable as a destination directly, and I assume uses a connection to Virgin Australia.

It could be that the connecting flights aren't available that far out?

Try various dates, and if in doubt call them up I'd suggest.

Just did a quick search for May on the V Australia site for flights from SYD to MEL and it was coming up with dozens of flights.

So maybe an issue with the VS website??

I think you may have to use the "flight connector" option on the search flights page

Thanks for your answers guys.

Perhaps the best thing is to give them a ring.

From this end if I make a reservation enquiry on the VS Aus website I get offered either a codeshare on SQ, but with a VS flight number, or DJ to Sydney and onwards with VS. But some dates do say no flights available.
