Last minute panic

Am in PE on the vs19 tomorrow morning (saturday). Am having a problem with my cabin luggage weight.

Am taking a some fairly heavy camera lenses and a 17" macbook pro with me, and my bag is hitting 9kg in weight.

The bag is still smaller than the maximum size but obviously a couple of kilos over the 6.5kg recommended limit.

Does anyone think i'll have problems taking it onboard, or would you recommend i remove the camera (about a 1.5kg) and carry it with me.

Advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Are the lenses on their own or attached to a camera, if so sling the camera over your shoulder at check-in then repack it in your bag once through security - that way if you do get asked to weigh your bag, you'll be OK.

Alternatively, wear a coat with big pockets and put some lenses in there, then repack after security.

Chances are you won't get weighed, but then they act randomly, so you could!

Enjoy the flight, share a TR with us?

Just a quick update, at both LHR and SFO, my bag was not checked for weight, though looking at the size of some other people's luggage i can understand why.

Booking UC for next flight, so wont have to worry so much next time!
