Load check required, concern over availability on flight!

Hi Guys!

Just registered on here after being an avid VA flyer, usually along the LGW - LAS route, always found this board really interesting so thought i'd jump in and join you all :D

Reason being is I need to get to Vegas on May 11th for the weekend as I have a hotel booked and my tickets for Snow Patrol at the Cosmopolitian :) I have been keeping a keen eye on the VS43 from Gatwick on 11th May 2012 and the price keeps hovering around the £700 mark return, a week later the price jumps up to over £1000 return in economy! :0

Can somebody supply me with a loadcheck for this flight as I need to know weather to fork out £700 or live in the hope that the flight is pretty empty and that the price might drop in time, considering we are currently in the VA sale period i'm sligtly concerned that the price will only increase rather than decrease!

Thanks for your help!

Thanks alot Steve! Does this loadcheck tell us if the flight is busy or fairly empty?

welcome

you can register (for free) on http://www.flightstats.com and do load checks to your hearts content. That said looking at loads 3 months out can give a false impression of availability and how full or empty a flight can be

Fares can jump around for all sorts of reasons such as all the lower fare bckets being sold. Even doing a dummy booking to check prices can cause this as the ticketing system sees 'demand' and can adjust the prices. Returning an hour later will often see a fall.

I am seeing fares at £720 at the moment using the new fare watch feature.

If you see a fare you are happy with then book it.

Theres always the option of going from LHR to SF or LA and taking a short hop internal flight from there to Vegas. Maybe cheaper that way.

Hi and welcome to V-Flyer

The perceived wisdom on this site is, if you see a price you are prepared to pay then go for it. The fact that it jumped up to £1000 could indicate a couple of things; one is that they have sold out all the seats in the lower bucket and the fare will not drop, the other is that on the day you were looking at that flight, so were many others. When you search for a flight the website locks that in for about 20 minutes and so if several people are looking at the same dates the website moves on to a higher bucket in economy. This happened to me some years ago on a Sunday when everyone was looking at flights to Orlando. The following day the cheaper fares were back. Don't hold off

I would also direct you to our latest addition to the site.

Best of luck to your search

Thanks for the response! Did consider flying Hea to LA, with the overlay and an internal flight to vegas still calculates at roughly £750, Im absolutley amazed at the current prices for air fares, I flew LGW to LAS just before christmas and only paid £550 return on VA ?|

I just booked flight to LAS via SFO yesterday for May

VS LHR to SFO £514, and Virgin America SFO - LAS return $139
