Clubhouse Guests

This coming June I will be travelling to Boston and returning from Las Vegas to Manchester after a multi centre trip with my family in Upper Class. The wife's parents will be coming with us but in Premium Economy. Will the inlaws be allowed in the clubhouse at Heathrow and the shared lounge in Las Vegas? Would we all be allowed to check in together at the Upper Class desk?We will be flying with Virgin America on the internal flights. Do any of our Upper Class privileges extend to the economy Virgin America flights? :)

Provided you are travelling with the other half, then you have two guests you can:

1. Accompany you at UC check In
2. Be your guests in the Clubhouse
3. Be your guest as LAS (here you might need to ensure the paper invite you are given at check in is clearly noted)

IIRC, Au privileges do not extend to Virgin America

Thanks buns

There will be 4 travelling UC, me, the wife and 2 teens, so that should easily cover the guest invites hopefully. ^)

So, as we are all on the same flights we just all go along to the UC check in, 4 x UC and 2 x PE, and there should be no problem?

Yes, that will be absolutely no problem.

There will not be a problem - even if the in laws were on another VS flight that day - not that I am suggesting anything you understand ):

There are no Au or UC privileges on Vigin America. If you want to use their clubhouses you have to purchase entry for $35 per person (so probably not worth it for 6 of you). This even applies if you have a VX first class ticket. They only have clubhouses at SFO, JFK and IAD.

I took a couple of flights with them last week in Main Cabin class and both were fine. (Well, actually one was a complete nightmare, but nothing to do with VX - trip report brewing).

Cheers

A few questions here, never really asked because VX seemed an unlikely flight for me:

1) You don't get into the VX clubhouse with a first class VX ticket? Who gets to use it then? VX gold only?

2) Theres a VX lounge and a VS lounge in SFO and JFK separately? Is the SFO one airside?

The Lounges are not VX, they belong to VS.
There is only the one lounge in each location, and its shared VS/VX, so VX passengers have to pay whatever ticket they have

You'll find that with all US carriers a first class ticket does not gain entry to their lounge on domestic only flights. I made an embarrassing mistake once when waltzing up to an Admirals Club with every expectation to gain entry, to be turned away :| .

There's currently no VX lounge at SFO, VX uses the VS Clubhouse and note that this is airside in the International Terminal, not T2 that VX flies from now. Entry into the Clubhouse costs $35 for First, Main Cabin Select and Elevate members flying on VX that day - however check the opening hours because it's still only open prior to the VS20 (currently, see here). Other Clubhouse information can be found in the same link.

I think you can only purchase the access to the VX/VS lounge if you are holding an F ticket on VX - not just any ticket.

I have purchased a Clubhouse entry previously in SFO, as a VX Elevate member, not flying in F

See above, F, Main Cabin Select, and Elevate members.
